Beauty might be your passion. If it is, then there are a wealth of career paths you can choose within the beauty industry. Whether you’re still studying or not, it’s worth considering the training required for the role you’re interested, along with what you might like about the job itself.

Esthetician

Perhaps you love to pamper. If so, then a career as an esthetician might be perfect for you. Estheticians usually provide beauty treatments to their clients. Covering everything from manicures and pedicures to facials and massages, a career in this area teaches you a lot of skills. You can also decide whether you’d like to specialize in one area or learn more. Estheticians are also now training to provide more advanced and exciting treatments like eyelash extensions and permanent makeup, which might be an interesting career choice for you. You could even have your own salon business at some point in the future.

Nutritionist

So technically, a nutritionist is probably classed as a career within the health industry, but there is some crossover. Nutritionists do provide expert advice on diet and lifestyle factors to help clients lose weight, but that’s not the only focus they have. Sometimes, customers will need dietary assistance to control a skin condition or to improve their overall wellbeing and confidence. It can be a very rewarding job. Not only would you be able to transform people’s lives, but you will learn about the ways that you can be body beautiful from the inside out.

If you love makeup, learning new techniques are have a passion for the products, a career as a makeup artist might be ideal for you. During your training, you’ll not only learn how to apply makeup for everyday looks and special occasions, but you could also choose to study special FX makeup. If you’d love to work in the film industry, this could be a path that you’d decide to go down. It would also add another skill to your professional resume, and it could make you more employable in the future.

Dermatologist

If your primary beauty interest is skin, then you might want to think about becoming a dermatologist. Again, this career is more within the health industry, as it is a medical profession, but, it is very much beauty related. If you’re currently in school, you’re going to want to consider the training required to become a dermatologist to pick your classes. You’ll also want to be pre-med, attend medical school and do your clinical rotations. But if you’re passionate about good skin care, it will all be worth it in the end.
